Grand Prairie Parkway
McAninch was the General Contractor for the last of the City of West Des Moines’ Grand Prairie Parkway projects. This project involves over 120,000 CY of on-site grading, 340,000 CY of contractor furnished borrow, and 4,600 LF of storm sewer work done by McAninch crews. We had multiple partners working under our contract to build a bridge over Raccoon River Drive and the Iowa Interstate Railroad, perform bridge removal and box culvert construction for Johnson Creek, install fiber optic conduit, and pave South Grand Prairie Pkwy., Raccoon River Drive, and a new trail from Raccoon River up to Grand Avenue.

This challenging job required multiple stages of construction to accommodate local traffic and the railroad. But through close coordination with Foth Infrastructure and Environmental, the engineer for the project, and the City of West Des Moines, we were able to overcome the challenges and put the finishing touches on the much-anticipated South Grand Prairie Parkway corridor.
